A Perfect Day

Got word late Tuesday that my plans for Wednesday were going to change. I was a bit frustrated with this. You see, I'm a planner and I didn't decide to change my plans. Someone else did that for me. I got up early Wednesday morning to go for a run. It was so nice and cool. Quite a change from the heat we have been experiencing. After my run, some time in the Word and talking with God, I decided instead of focusing on being frustrated, I'd make the most of the beautiful day with my girls. So I got them dressed in their swimming dresses (I knew water play would be involved), packed a few snacks and drinks and we drove out to the OKC Zoo.

The weather was amazing-could not believe it was an August day in OK. The zoo wasn't' too busy, many schools had begun. Usually I schedule days/trips like this, but I didn't really have time to plan. Yet it turned out to be the perfect day for my girls and I. My plans got interrupted, changed, but it was so much better than what I had originally planned.

In life, we set goals, plan for the future, but God often takes us down another path. Instead of becoming frustrated, step out in faith and go where He leads. Embrace the adventure and trust that He makes all things work together for your good. Romans 8:28

"God can do anything, you know-far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!"

I pray that God continues to interrupt my plans!
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalm 118:24

Acts 17:26-27

And he made from one all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth having definitly determined their alloted periods of time and the fixed boundries of their habitation. So that they should seek God in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although he is not far from each one of us. (Acts 17:26-27)

It is amazing to me that god works in such a way that he makes it easiest for us to have a deep and profound relationship with him. I just watched a video on the news that had a dispute between a church in Ohio and a strip club that was protesting the church. This was retaliation. The story ostensibly was about two sides of the fence, and there will probably never be resolution. Lost in the story was that one of the dancers, who was on the video voicing her side of the dispute, was brought to the Lord by one of the parishoners who prayed with her. She went to protest a church, and she was grasped by the Holy Spirit.

He is not far from each of us, and he put us in a place in a time that is best suited for us to have a relationship with him.

I am a scoundrel, and I am nothing without my savior Jesus Christ.
